Wise Words from Stephen Hawking

January 9th, 2012

Be curious. And however difficult life may seem, there is always something you can do and succeed at. It matters that you don’t just give up.

Try. That’s sometimes all that matters. Here’s to starting off this January week with Hawking’s words in mind.

Goals

January 6th, 2012

I don’t really like making new years resolutions, simply because I never seem to be able to follow up on them consistently, and therefore they are moot. But I do have a few things I would like to keep in mind for 2012:

  • Write another book. All of it. Even if it hurts.
  • Enjoy travel more. Don’t stress so much over it.
  • Be healthier. Run a 5K, lift weights, eat right.
  • Spend more time actually doing things with family.
  • Stretch my writing – try exercises, or workshops, or whatever it takes.

So we’ll see how the year goes, but right now I’m pretty optimistic about things!

Happy 2012!

Just a quick update to say that I am resolving to be a better blogger, and to work on a new novel this month.

I also turned 27 a few days ago. I do love birthdays!

Once again, Mr. Rabbit makes an appearance, and that’s my husband in the background. I always have angel food cake at my Dad’s on my birthday. It’s so fluffy and delicious!

A real, physical thing

December 22nd, 2011

The pre-order copies of UnCONventional have arrived!! I’ve been holding on tightly to the copies I have. I’ve signed a few (even wrapped some), but this seems like a project for the holidays. Can I just say how much I adore being able to hold something that has my published name in it? Here’s a little sneak peek!

It just makes me so, so happy — and proud. Also, Rabbit (my two year old maltese) really wanted in on the action, so I let him pose just for a moment.

Happy Holidays everyone!

2011 Was Good To Me

December 14th, 2011

I know it wasn’t a good year for everyone, but 2011, I love you. This year, I…

  • Sold my first story, which will be available in UnCONventional January 2012.
  • Planned a wedding for 115 guests
  • Married my best friend of 7 years
  • Went on our honeymoon
  • Somehow managed not to go crazy — and actually enjoyed the hubbub of everything!

2012, I’m looking forward to great things from you as well. Until then, a few photos to tide us all over.

Wish we could go back and do it all over again!

Welcome!
